Diane Ebert was born in Biddeford Pool, Maine. As an infant, she and her family relocated to Methuen, Massachusetts, where she has lived all her life. She has been active in the arts since childhood when she began sketching. In the 1970s she was avid in the ceramic arts and taught classes to beginners. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Diane owned and operated a knitting business where she designed sweaters, hats, and other knitted goods for Ski Haus and other local merchants and customers. Always a believer in sharing her talents, she also offered knitting courses.
In 1995, the death of her husband prompted her to become interested in photography as a therapeutic way to fill the void. Diane began to truly appreciate the beauty all around her, taking pictures of her six children and various locations throughout the Merrimack Valley. Since then she has expanded her repertoire to include animals, plant life, and seascapes. Recently, she has become particularly fascinated with the history of the Merrimack Valley and would like to include photographs of historic locations, such as the Searles and Winnikenni castles, in her collection, as she enjoys being able to tell a stories that compliment her work.
Being the mother of six children and the grandmother of four, Diane has learned that anything can be accomplished; she lets nothing stand in the way of her goals. Realizing that photography is her true passion in life, Diane became a portrait photographer over four years ago. This has enabled her to earn her living doing what she loves while developing her talent as a landscape and scenic photographer. Diane takes pride in being a self-taught photographer with over a decade of hands on experience. She has also taught herself to be proficient in various photography software programs. She is a member of The Arts Institute Group of the Merrimack Valley and has participated in exhibits at the Nevins Memorial Library and Lawrence Heritage State Park. In April she will be the Artist of the Month on display in the Methuen City Hall. She hopes to have her work displayed at galleries in Newburyport, Massachusetts and Ogunquit, Maine by the end of the summer. The artist finds it fascinating that people all over the world have viewed her work. Through a personal website that is currently under construction, Diane hopes to be able to reach even more people in the future.
